M700 RubrGard
SEBS Emulsion Asphalt

USES: M700 RubrGard protects surfaces exposed to the weather. RubrGard is an excellent protective coating for roofs, foundations, concrete, metal, and wood. RubrGard may be applied to install PolyWeb waterproofing sheets. RubrGard is compatible with SEBS, APP, and SBS modified bitumen roofing products and will adhere to most surfaces including roofing, wood, metal, glass, and concrete.

DIRECTIONS: M700 RubrGard is friendly to apply, especially in warm, dry conditions. RubrGard sets up in approximately 1 to 4 hours, depending on weather conditions. Apply with a medium stiff bristle brush or asphalt emulsion spray equipment. Do not apply RubrGard if rain or excessive humidity is imminent either during or immediately following application; or if the outside temperature is below 50° F. Clean gravel, dirt, vegetation, and debris from the application area. Make sure the application surface is smooth, firm, frost-free, and dry. Apply RubrGard directly from the container without diluting. Thoroughly mix RubrGard just prior to application. Generously apply RubrGard as a roof coating at the uniform rate of 3 gallons per 100 square feet, and as a foundation coating at the uniform rate of 2 gallons per 100 square feet. Prior to coating, seal any leaking penetrations with M300 RubrMastic and PolyWeb, and repair all fissures. Make a 3 layer repair with RubrGard and PolyWeb over fissures and degraded areas. First brush a generous application of RubrGard over the repair area and beyond the width and length of the PolyWeb you intend to install. Second, lightly brush the PolyWeb into the RubrGard. Third, carefully brush a generous application of RubrGard over the entire repair, making sure to completely cover the PolyWeb. For severe fissures, apply additional layers of PolyWeb and RubrGard. To install PolyWeb waterproofing sheets with RubrGard, uniformly apply 3 gallons per 100 square feet of RubrGard in a 3 foot wide strip as an adhesive under the first roll of PolyWeb. Set the PolyWeb into the RubrGard, making sure it unrolls straight and without any wrinkles. Carefully press the unrolled PolyWeb into the RubrGard by lightly brushing the surface until complete adhesion is achieved. Do not step on the PolyWeb until the RubrGard has set up. Continue installing each successive roll of PolyWeb by overlapping the prior sheet 2" on the sides. For each additional layer of PolyWeb, repeat the above process using 3 gallons per 100 square feet of RubrGard in a complete interply application. Center the rolls of each additional layer of PolyWeb over the seams of the prior layer. Apply a final surface coating of RubrGard at the uniform rate of 3 gallons per 100 square feet. For maximum protection and reduced energy costs, apply M800 RubrStar over the RubrGard after set up.

DESCRIPTION: M700 RubrGard is a SEBS asphalt emulsion. RubrGard has been engineered to provide a Class A Fire Rating over most roof surfaces including APP, SBS, SEBS, and built-up roofing systems. RubrGard is a patented breakthrough achieved by Fields in SEBS chemistry. The SEBS rubber in RubrGard provides maximum elastic performance against thermal shock, the daily expansion and contraction of a roof caused by temperature changes. SEBS rubber polymers are the only ones known to effectively resist the sun's destructive UV rays that attack the roof membrane making it brittle and weak, inducing membrane ruptures during thermal shock cycles. RubrGard is your best defense against these attacks. With RubrGard, your roofing and waterproofing installations will perform much longer. RubrGard is asbestos free and has an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Class A Fire Rating.

SPECIFICATIONS: M700 RubrGard exceeds the standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM D 1227, Type 3, Class 1. Maximum VOC is 0 grams per liter.
