Construction #1: Insulation is secured to the
deck per Built Up Roof cover insulation/fastener tables. 3, 4 or 5 ply
BUR roof covers are constructed with hot asphalt at 18-28 lb/sq (0.9-1.4
kg/m2). The covering is a multilayer construction of Fields F56 GlasPly
4 Fields F54 GlasPly 6 used as a 3, 4 or 5 (5 ply BUR system only approved
over concrete decks) ply assembly. Each layer is adhered to the preceding
layer or insulation by hot asphalt. The use of Fields F52 GlasBase base
sheet and/or Fields F58 GlasCap cap sheet is optional. MeetsClass 1-60/1-90
per insulation/fastener table.
Construction #2: Insulation is secured to the deck per Built Up
Roof cover insulation/fastener tables. Manufacturers specification numbers:HAI-X25-MC
HAI-X35-MC HAI-X45-MC, HAI-X35-RM HAI-X45-RM HAI-X55-RM, HAI-X35-RC (hot
asphalt surfacing only), HAI-X45-RC (hot asphalt surfacing only). 3, 4
or 5 (5 ply BUR system only approved over concrete decks) ply BUR roof
covers are constructed as in Construction #1. Base sheet may be adhered
with 12 in. (305 mm) dia. spots 24 in. (610 mm) o.c. Meets Class 1-60/1-90
per
insulation/fastener table.
Construction #3: Concrete. Multilayer Insulation. Deck is primed
and covered with a polyisocyanurate insulation as shown in the table under
Construction #1 or min 1ž2 in. (13 mm) thick Retro-Fit or min 3ž4 in.
(19 mm) thick Fesco, Base Cap or Fiber Glass Roof Insulation is adhered
with hot asphalt at 30 lb/sq (1.5 kg/m2). Apply 3, 4 or 5 ply BUR per
Construction #1 or #2. Meets Class 1-90.
Construction #4: Concrete. Deck is primed and covered with one
or more layers of Fesco, ENRGY 2, Fesco Foam, DuraBoard, Fiber Glass or
Base Cap (as shown in Construction #3) are adhered to the deck with hot
asphalt at 30-35 lb/sq (1.5-1.7 kg/m2). Apply 3, 4 or 5 ply BUR per Construction
#1 or #2. Meets Class 1-90.
Construction #5: Concrete. Min 1.4 in. (35 mm) ENRGY 2, min 1.5
in. (38 mm) Fesco Foam or DuraBoard, or min 3ž4 in. (19 mm) Fesco secured
to deck per Built-Up Roof Cover Insulation/Fastener table. Optional min
1.4 in. (35 mm) ENRGY 2, min 1.5 in. (38 mm) Fesco Foam or DuraBoard,
min 3ž4 in. (19 mm) Fesco or 1ž2 in. (13 mm) Retro-Fit Board, GAFTEMP
Permalite Recover, Permalite Recover Board adhered in hot asphalt at 25
lb/sq (1.2 kg/m2). Apply BUR per Construction #1. Meets Class 1-60/1-90
per insulation/fastener table for bottom layer insulation.
Construction #6: Steel, Concrete. Min 1.4 in. (35 mm) ENRGY 2 (not
with ENRGY 2 coverboard on steel deck), min 1.5 in. (38 mm) Fesco Foam
or DuraBoard, or min 3ž4 in. (19 mm) Fesco loose laid on the deck Min
1.4 in. (35 mm) ENRGY 2, min 1.5 in. (38 mm) Fesco Foam or DuraBoard,
min 3ž4 in. (19 mm) Fesco is placed with all joints staggered and mechanically
fastened through bottom layer per Built-Up Roof Cover Insulation tables.
Apply BUR per Construction #1. Meets Class 1-90/1-60 per insulation/fastener
table for top layer.
Construction #6a: Concrete. Same as Construction #6 except 3, 4
or 5 ply BUR felt applied. Meets Class 1-60/1-90 per insulation/fastener
table for bottom layer insulation.
Construction #7: Steel. FM Approved 18, 20 or 22 ga. (MSG) (0.0474,
0.0358 or 0.0295 in. [1.2, 0.9 or 0.7 mm]) steel deck placed over 0.25
in. (6 mm) thick structural steel supports having max 6 ft (1.8 m) o.c.
span. The deck is anchored to the min 0.25 in. (6 mm) thick steel supports
with ITW Buildex Teks 4 or Teks 5 fasteners spaced max 6 in. (152 mm)
o.c. at the supports. The deck side laps shall be secured with ITW Buildex
Teks 1 fastener spaced max 30 in. (762 mm) o.c.
Min 2 in. (51 mm) thick ENRGY 2 roof insulation mechanically secured to
the deck with UltraFast fasteners and metal plates applied at 1.45 sq/ft
(0.1 m2) max contributory area per fastener and plate (22 fasteners and
plates per 4 x 8 ft (1.2 x 2.4 m) board). Retro-Fit board, GAFTEMP Permalite
Recover, Permalite Recover Board adhered to the mechanically fastened
insulation with a fully mopping of hot asphalt at approximate 20-25 lb/sq
(1-1.2 kg/m2). Four-ply roof cover adhered to Retro-Fit by a fully mopping
of hot asphalt. Meets Class 1-150.
Construction #8: Steel. Min 5ž8 in. (16 mm) Dens
Deck or 1 in. (25 mm) Fesco board mechanically fastened to the deck per
Built-Up Roof Cover Insulation/Fastener tables. Two-ply vapor retarder
of Fields F56 GlasPly 4 adhered to Dens Deck by a full mopping of hot
asphalt. Min 1.8 in. (46 mm) thick ENRGY 2 or 2.0 in. (51 mm) Fiber Glass
adhered to the vapor retarder by a full mopping of asphalt. Min 1ž2 in.
(13 mm) Retrofit adhered by a full mopping of hot asphalt. Max 4 ply hot
asphalt applied built-up roof cover. Meets Class 1-60/1-90 per insulation/fastener
table for bottom layer insulation.
