Base and Ply Sheet Evaluation

Criteria	Corrective Action
The installation of all sheets started during the day are completed on the same day, including the reflective surfacing or a glaze coating.	In unexpected weather or unforeseen conditions that prohibit installation of all sheets started on the same day, consult with the designer or Fields for corrective action.
All sheets are installed so that the flow of water is over or parallel to the seams but never against the seams.	Determine correct drainage patterns prior to installation. Correct installation to ensure water does not flow into seams.
Quantity of ply sheets installed are as specified.	For each missing sheet, install a minimum of two additional layers of specified ply sheets over the area determined to be deficient.
Sheets are completely adhered into the Fields asphalt adhesive.	Adjust work practices so as to ensure complete adhesion. Broom and adhere sheets quickly into Fields asphalt while it is fluid.
Prior to adhering sheets to concrete or masonry surfaces, prime with M400 RubrPrime to ensure adequate adhesion.	Prime surfaces with M400 RubrPrime and reinstall sheets.
Side laps, end laps, and head laps are as specified.	Install a minimum of two additional layers of sheets over the area determined to have deficient laps.

Flashing Evaluation

Criteria	Corrective Action
Metal and masonry surfaces are primed with M400 RubrPrime before Fields asphalt is applied.	Prime surfaces with M400 RubrPrime as required and reinstall flashings.
Flashing membranes are completed daily through the reflective surfacing or with an asphalt glaze coating.	Adjust installation practices to complete flashing membranes daily.
Flashing reinforcing sheets are securely fastened as specified.	Install additional fasteners to comply with specifications.
Flashing sheets are completely and continuously adhered with the specified Fields asphalt.	Bring installation into specification. Remove and replace nonconforming flashing sheets.
Cants are installed as specified.	Adjust installation to meet specification. Install cants as specified.
Quantity and type (M60 RubrPoly) of flashing sheets are as specified.	Install quantity and type of flashing reinforcing sheets per specification.
Reflective surfacing is applied as specified.	Apply reflective surfacing per specification.
Laps in flashing reinforcing sheets are continuously sealed.	Bring installation into specification. Remove and replace defective laps.
Top edge of flashing membrane is waterproofed daily.	Bring installation into specification.

Reflective Surfacing Evaluation

Criteria	Corrective Action
Prior to applying glaze coating or reflective surfacing, repair irregularities in the ply sheets such as wrinkles, dry laps, or damage.	Delay installation of reflective surfacing until ply sheet irregularities are corrected.
Fields hot asphalt glaze coating application rate is a uniform 15 lbs per 100 sq ft; or Fields ambient asphalt glaze coating application rate is a uniform 2 gals per 100 sq ft.	Immediately adjust application rate to ensure the correct uniform coverage rate. Should observations reveal uncoated areas, reapply asphalt glaze coating to such areas so as to achieve a surface that is completely coated with a smooth continuous film of Fields asphalt. Over applications that might cause fissures shall be corrected.
Fields reflective coating is applied at the uniform rate specified in the "Coating Rate Chart".	Recoat deficient areas at the uniform rate specified in the "Coating Rate Chart".
Fields aluminum chips are applied at the uniform rate of 3.5 lbs per 100 sq ft plus or minus .5 lbs into the specified Fields ambient applied asphalt.	Reapply Fields asphalt and aluminum chips over affected areas so as to bring into specification.
Fields ceramic granules are applied at the uniform rate of 50 lbs per 100 sq ft plus or minus 5 lbs into the specified Fields asphalt.	Reapply Fields asphalt and ceramic granules over affected areas so as to bring into specification.
Fields pea gravel shall be dry, free of excessive fines, dirt, and other foreign matter.	Remove nonconforming pea gravel from the project site and replace.
Hot asphalt application rate for pea gravel is a uniform 60 lbs per 100 sq ft; and ambient asphalt application rate is a uniform 8 gals per 100 sq ft.	Immediately adjust application rate to ensure a continuous hot asphalt layer of 60 lbs per 100 sq ft, or ambient asphalt layer of 8 gals per 100 sq ft, and reapply asphalt and pea gravel on deficient areas.
Fields pea gravel is applied at the uniform rate of 400 lbs per 100 sq ft, plus or minus 20 lbs.	Whenever calculation indicates an inadequate or excess amount of pea gravel, bring all prior gravel applications into compliance and adjust application to ensure specified quantity of pea gravel.
Reflective cap sheets have min 2" side laps and 6" end laps staggered at least 36" with .25" minimum visible asphalt along seams. White ceramic granules shall be sprinkled into fresh visible asphalt in excess of the .25" on seams.	Should observation reveal deficiencies, correct installed cap sheets, and make adjustments to ensure continuous application of asphalt and that all laps are sealed.
Reflective cap sheets are installed so that flow of water is over or parallel to seams but never against seams.	Remove incorrectly installed cap sheets and adjust installation to ensure flow of water is over or parallel to seams but never against seams.

Quality Assurance After Installation
Post Installation After a Fields roof system has been installed, the roofing contractor shall advise the general contractor or owner so that they may provide surveillance and protection during the remainder of the building construction period. Damage to the roof system by other trades is a major cause of roof failures. Construction traffic, staging, other trade installations, and debris shall be kept off finished roof systems.
